The truly creative, fighting and nationalistic nature of Italians is coming out in full force.  When the announcement was made that all restaurants, bars etc had to have at least 100cm between guests our local pizzeria Tabacchi Jazz in Tavernacce was on the ball.  They had re-arranged their tables and posted their updates on facebook.  As soon as the second announcement was made that restaurants had to close they checked and found out that the home delivery service was still allowed.  So guess what, yep they started to offering Pizzas, antipasta and fried/battered vegetables for delivery service.  https://www.facebook.com/Tabacchi-Jazz-126379747439169/    I applaud Marcella and Massimos’ tenacity and really hope they like many others survive this current crisis.  Unfortunately we are too far away to take advantage of their offer but I know plenty of locals will – you can never go without your weekly Italian pizza even if it is at home.

I would have joined in with the call for signing from your balconies on Friday evening at 6pm but there would have been no-one else except for the wild boars who would have heard me and joined in 🙂  The song by the The Specials – “This town is like a ghost town” springs to mind – ok I am showing my age ……

Pizza deliveries    Pizza deliveries :)

It’s a beautiful and sunny day here in Umbria so time to get out into the fresh air and make sure our gardens are kept under control as they are definitely not under lock down.

Stay Safe
